Smart Kids Mega Game Mix

Smart Kids Mega Game Mix Review

My 3.5 year old son loves this game. It's easy to understand, even if your kid doesn't read or speak English (our mother tounge is Spanish and my son is just learning English). It has SO MANY little games, he can spend hours playing.
It is wonderful to find games suitable for small children for which Mario Kart and Super Mario Bros. are still too difficult.
My only but is the somewhat annoying music and loud "Right" sound. It is nice for a while, but it gets to be tiring.

Lovely Lisa and Friends

Lovely Lisa and Friends Review

My 4 year old loved this game.

Lisa loves clothes, makeup and helping her family. She is 1 of 5 kids and helps her parents, A LOT! Her mother asks her to shop, clean up after the babies, help put the triplets down for naps, cook and more. Her father has her help put furniture together. If your child doesn't read yet, like mine after some prompting, they will be able to play the game with zero assistance from you.

The best part of the game is the clothes and make-up. Like the real world, you need money for that and this game is no different. I set the parental control to the max amount of points for my daughter. One of the favorites has become florist, hamburger cook and police officer. They games are easy and fun. Plus they have given my daughter the confidence she needs to explore trying some of the other games that frustrated her in the past.

Since my little girl can't read she has to follow directions supplied by the game which means she has to listen well and follow directions. Not a bad thing since she is starting full time school this September.

I love watching her sit quietly and play Lovely Lisa. This is a great game for girls age 4-9.

John Deere Harvest in the Heartland

John Deere Harvest in the Heartland Review

After playing FarmVille on Facebook I wanted to find a farming game I could play on the DS and this one is great! It provides long term appeal with different awards to win, animals to play with, and crops to grow. It isn't difficult to make money to buy new things. One thing I don't like is that you can only buy so many "squares" of cropland and then you have all this extra space. Time goes by very quickly, rather than actual time, so that makes the game move fairly fast. I wouldn't call this an exciting game by any means, but if you have patience with games and like them to last a while, then this is a good choice for you. Similarly to FarmVille, you plow your crops, plant your seeds, and harvest. You also treat for pests and can enter crops to win awards. With the different animals, you feed then daily, clean up after them, and reap whatever product they produce (eggs, milk, wool, etc), as well as win awards with them.

John Deere Harvest in the Heartland Feature

• Build your home in the heartland
• Earn profits to buy John Deere equipment
• Great use of dual screens to monitor your farm
• As your farm grows so do your customization choices
• Uses both touch screen & Stylus

John Deere Harvest in the Heartland Overview

Craft fertile soil into a profitable, prize winning and picture-worthy farm. Prepare land and livestock to produce goods with which you can profit, and earn money to purchase John Deere equipment, land, or livestock to improve your farm. Use the touch screen and stylus to Sculpt the Heartland into the farm of your dreams. Use the top screen to monitor your farm with the mini-map and check on the status of crops & livestock.

Hello Kitty Party

Hello Kitty Party Review

I bought this game for my 4 year old daughter, who is just starting to have an interest in video games. I knew that she would not be able to follow a game that was story-based. She can't read yet, so we needed a game that was simple and didn't require much reading.

This game is perfect. It basically consists of at least a dozen mini-games. For example, the player must prepare food for the party, so there are a few games that require shopping and cooking. The player must also get dressed for the party, so there are a few games for making clothes or trying on outfits. There are many more but that is an example of how the game is set up. All I had to do was play each mini-game with my daughter once before she got the hang of it, now she can do it all on her own so overall, it ended up being exactly what we wanted.

Hello Kitty Party Feature

• More than 25 different easy-to-pick-up-and-play mini-games starring Hello Kitty and her Sanrio friends: Keroppi, Badtz-Maru, My Melody and more
• Have a Party: Send out personalized invitations to any of Hello Kitty's friends
• Dress Making: Sew, iron, cut patterns, and play the button, maze or material hoopla games
• Cooking: Satisfy your culinary appetite by cooking, slicing, frying, washing and even cleaning up, because every good party leaves a mess
• Dress up Hello Kitty in a variety of outfits and accessories (including jewelry, hats and handbags) and then take photos that can be saved to your album

Hello Kitty Party Overview

The party starts here with Hello Kitty and her adorable Sanrio friends! Get together with this cute and playful group as they shop, sew, cook, dance, make dresses, dress up and much more. Find out what's made the beloved Hello Kitty franchise a worldwide hit!
